Head of Product

As Head of Product you’ll be a key member of the ASKET team, leading the Product team with full ownership of our most important asset - our permanent collection of timeless essentials. Your mission is to create and ensure reliable supply of world-class products at fair prices with maximal longevity and minimal impact.

As such, you’ll be responsible for everything from new product development to running production and refinement of our existing products as well as reaching our ambitious targets of full transparency in terms of price, origin and impact of our products. To do so you are to build the Product team from a team of five to a fully fledged product organisation - recruiting and developing team members, formalising and improving core processes and implementing systems to secure scalability, reliability, efficiency and effectiveness.

Mission and goals

  • Create world-class products (developing new products and refining existing ones)
  • Ensure quality and reliability of supply (according to standards and delivered on-time)
  • Minimise footprint per product (CO2, water, energy, chemicals, etc.)
  • Achieve full transparency and control of supply chain
  • Implement full lifecycle responsibility, designing and producing for circularity
  • Given all of the above, achieve the best possible price and terms



Responsibilities and tasks

  • Lead, develop and manage the Product team, processes and systems.
  • Strategically build our permanent collection, manage our long-term range plan and product development roadmap
  • Create and maintain yearly product development pipeline and budget, ensure that timelines are kept and cost targets met
  • Lead recruitment and development of the design, product development, production and quality assurance functions
  • Supervise and support ongoing production planning and the timely delivery of our products
  • Manage the product budget across design, product development, production and QC/QA
  • Bi-annually review cost of goods sold, follow-up vs budget and initiate profitability improvements
  • Quarterly review, analyse and take action on product performance reports (customer ratings, defect rates, customer service feedback, etc.), constantly striving to perfect our garments
  • Bi-annually review traceability score and improvement plan until we reach 100% Traceability
  • Support product impact calculations and drive impact reduction projects
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers through regular meetings and visits



The ideal candidate

  • Minimum 10 years working experience within product development, production management or similar area within textiles, apparel or footwear industries.
  • Degree in fashion design, buying, textile engineering, management or other relevant areas
  • Experienced and proven leader with great management skills
  • Unprestigious, hard working and itching to contribute to achieving ASKET’s vision of fundamentally changing the apparel industry for the better - no matter what it takes
  • Passionate about making high quality, timeless products in a responsible way
  • Highly organized and structured with a strong attention to details
  • Process oriented thinker, constantly thinking about what could be done differently, better, more efficient and quick to implement or suggest changes
  • Excellent analytical ability and numerical skills
  • Documented experience and affinity for working in systems like ERP, PLM, PIM
  • Experience of working with a fast growing brand
  • Fluent in English, written and verbally
