In this role, you are responsible for accelerating the company’s growth ambitions and advancing the brand’s visual experience in Asia. By training, supporting and working tightly with the local teams you are responsible for the execution of Marimekko’s VM standards in Asia. You also participate in the development of the seasonal global visual merchandising guidelines.

In this position you will report to the Global VM Lead located in Stockholm, Sweden - yet work in tight cooperation with the local teams in Asia. You will also work tightly with the Global Partner Sales team and the Asia Marketing Manager, all located at the global HQ in Helsinki, Finland. This role will be based in Stockholm, Sweden and requires frequent travels to Asia. 

The responsibilities will include:
* Responsible for the implementation of global VM guidelines and global VM standards in Asia region in tight collaboration with the local teams.
* Responsible for arranging VM trainings and workshops with Asian partners and Area VM specialists.
* Through continuous support and feedback set up and implement a fluid way of working model with local Asian VM teams.
* Drive culture of a ‘here and now selling’ approach in Asia and support the local teams by implementing a fluid ‘action based VM’ model.
* Responsible for alignment with both partner marketing and merchandising in order to adapt global VM guidelines to the local Asian market needs.
* Together with the Global VM Lead – create and execute the global visual merchandising guidelines on a seasonal and monthly basis.
* Coordinate global POS materials to market and handle artwork requests to the global graphic design department.

To succeed in this role:
* You have a proven professional Visual Merchandiser experience, minimum 5 years, preferably from a fashion-oriented brand
* Previous experience from working in Asia or supporting Asian countries is definitely an advantage
* You have a proven leadership experience and a natural engagement in leading people with great results.
* You have a love for styling, fashion and interior design/décor
* You must have excellent communication skills in English - both written and verbal
* You have strong planning, organizing and prioritizing skills to manage high workload occasionally
* You have the ability to communicate ideas and visual presentations with suitable tools (e.g. Keynote, Power Point, Photoshop, InDesign)
* It is an advantage but not a must if you have knowledge of an Asian language, both written and verbal
* You need to be flexible and able to travel up to 50 % of your agreed work time
